HS2 - Update on the Resumption of the Movement of Abnormal Loads

article image

HS2 have advised that the delivery of the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) components that should have recommenced in March will now resume mid-April. This is due to a delay on the construction of essential concrete slabs.

The majority of the abnormal loads have already been delivered, therefore the impact on communities along the approved routes will be significantly less.  HS2 do not anticipate the noise levels to be so high that it would cause major disruption and they have assured us that every action will continue to be taken to minimise the potential impact of noise and vibration.

Deliveries which fall into the normal category (under 44 tonne) will make their way via standard trucks along Fosse Way and Welsh Road.

HS2 are currently awaiting the rubber-stamped full delivery schedule from their haulier and as soon as we know the schedule we will advise you.
