The parish council is elected to serve the local community of Bishop's Itchington

The Bishop’s Itchington Parish Council is elected to serve the local community. Find out more about what we do.

The parish council is elected to serve the local community. Our councillors are all volunteers who give their time freely. They are supported by the clerk to the council who is head of the council's administration and a small team of dedicated staff who are responsible for looking after various village amenities.

Judith Christian- Carter

The Parish Council was very sad to hear of the untimely death of former Parish Councillor Judith Christian-Carter on Tuesday.
Judith was a very long-standing member of the Parish Council and possessed an encyclopaedic knowledge of what was going on in and around the village. She was a fierce advocate for the village and the causes she believed in.
It was her vision that delivered the much-improved play area some twenty years ago that brought so much pleasure to the younger members of our community.
Often seen at village events with her camera she also understood the importance of recording the history of the village for posterity.
But she also made time for those less fortunate in our community in need of help, working with both County and District Councillors to get the support those individuals or families required.
When she stepped down as a Parish Councillor in 2023, after some 20 plus years, that did not stop her contributing to our community in other ways and she then switched her energies to BISA, the village sports association, and the Memorial Hall committee.
Our community will miss her significant contribution and, of course, miss seeing her, always accompanied by her two canine Girls, in all seasons, in all parts of the village when she was always available for a chat.
Thank you Judith, for all you did for the Bishop’s Itchington Community over so many years, you will be sadly missed.
Christopher Kettle
Chair - Bishop’s Itchington Parish Council
