The parish council is elected to serve the local community. Our councillors are all volunteers who give their time freely. They are supported by the clerk to the council who is head of the council's administration and a small team of dedicated staff who are responsible for looking after various village amenities.
Parish Council Office Opening Hours:
Monday - 9.00am to 12.00noon (except when there is a parish council meeting when the office is open from 1.00pm to 4.00pm); Tuesday 9.00am to 12.00noon; Wednesday - Closed; Thursday - 9.00am to 12.00noon; Friday - Closed.

Parish Council Elections
Parish Council Elections will be held on 4 May 2023.
If you would like to make a difference in your local community then maybe, becoming a parish councillor is for you. Bishop’s Itchington Parish Council is made up of 10 seats, all of which will be up for election. As a local Councillor you can become a voice for your community and make a real change. Local Councillors are the champions of their community who invest time in local projects and issues to the benefit of residents and the neighbourhood.
Local Councillor responsibilities fall into three main categories:
- Decision-making,
- Monitoring,
- Getting involved locally.
Local Councillors attend to local needs of residents, local groups, and businesses, make decisions on local services, collaborate with district and county councils to adhere to local needs, and progress vital projects to invest in the future of the community.

Nomination forms to become a parish councillor can either be handed to the Clerk by 12.00noon on 23 March 2023 or be delivered by hand to Stratford District Council, Elizabeth House, Chruch Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6HX by 4.00pm on Tuesday 4 April 2023 (no appointment is needed at Stratford District Council but it is strongly recommended that the nomination form is submitted well in advance of this incase it requires amendment) .
